Grey Seal Coffee

Context
Grey Seal Coffee are a specialty coffee roaster and chain of cafés in North Norfolk, that focus on a more collaborative approach to the coffee industry’s supply chain – starting at source with the farmers, not the importers. They are committed to being a sustainable business, and pride themselves redefining what true ‘quality’ means for coffee.
Challenge
The challenge was to develop a full re-brand, inclusive of the packaging and wider collateral.
Grey Seal Coffee wanted to hero their product and find a way to stand out from their competition as being the best – because their product is the best.
Solution
The idea started with the product itself – the bean. Coffee gets its flavour from its environment. The growing conditions (particularly the elevation and altitude the farm is located) are the primary
drivers for quality and flavour. This led to a series of topographical inspired designs, relating to each of the regions that the variety of beans were grown.
The key lines represented the levels of altitude, linking to the flavour notes of the bean e.g. hazelnut.
